To blog or not to blog, or just regulate it?

We all have known for some time now that the Smoking Ban Experiment (SBE) has nothing to do with health but everything to do with control.  In fact most of the 600+ laws and the monumental growth of CCTV watching every move we make are designed by the Labour party to control Britons from the cradle to the grave.  No part of our lives, or our childrens, have been untouched by the "control freaks" parading around Westmonster as our savours instead of our employees.

And we have also known that those paragons of virtue have been setting their sights, with the crosshairs firmly fixed on the Internet.  There is, it seems, not a day that goes by when some self interest group is besieging any self serving MP on the take with tales of horror about this site or other and to ban them off the face of the net.  There is an ongoing clamour to ban any Facebook site that even thinks of mentioning tobacco products.

Now it's the turn of the humble blog.  One Baroness Buscombe, the new Chair of the Press Complaints Commission, wants to regulate blogs and blogging and bring them into line with the MSM.

Baroness Buscombe can bloody well blog off!

The Liberal Conspiracy website, and Unity in particular, has written a letter to this harridan which, if you are a blogger you can sign before it is sent to her at her department.  Read the letter and sign up here: Liberal Conspiracy.

There are too many H/Ts as most of the blogosphere has ran with this story but I'll go with the last blog I read, the inimitable Mark Wadsworth.

No problem Mark. I see, over at Guido's, that it's all a storm in a teacup about Baroness Buscombe wanting to de-ball us bloggers? Hmmm.
