Who are the bad guys again?

Pfizer agrees record fraud fine

US drugmaker Pfizer has agreed to pay $2.3bn (£1.4bn) in the largest healthcare fraud settlement in the history of the Department of Justice.

The civil settlement also relates to allegations that Pfizer paid bribes to healthcare providers to induce them to prescribe four named drugs.

Hmmm. That rings a bell. Could this be the same Pfizer who have been paying Warwickshire PCT to prescribe their nicotine replacement drugs, as reported here in July, despite their being linked to numerous suicides and reports of induced depression? I think it might be, you know.

ASH like to bang on about those big nasty evil tobacco companies, yet appear blissfully happy to engage with the likes of Pfizer, who, as the article shows, are not averse to indulging in illegality when there are a few bucks in it for them.

So, who are the bad guys again?

Dick, thank you for bringing up this subject -
I have no idea what date this article was written -
And there was me thinking ONLY pregnant mothers smoking, causes low birthweight - http://lungs.emedtv.com/chantix/chantix-and-pregnancy.html
In studies on Chantix and pregnancy, the medicine did not cause any birth defects when given to pregnant rabbits and rats. It did, however, cause low fetal weight and decreased the fertility of the offspring. If you are taking Chantix and pregnancy occurs, your healthcare provider will consider the benefits to you and the risks to your unborn child before making a recommendation.
Snip~

It is important to note that it is not healthy for the baby if the mother smokes. Therefore, Chantix may be given to a pregnant woman if the healthcare provider believes that the woman cannot stop smoking on her own and that the benefits of stopping smoking outweigh the risks Chantix presents to the unborn child.

My youngest daughter is due to have her baby in October, yes she smokes, but her health visitor was happy she did not drink coffee :? so the smoking issue is rarely raised. I have to say in all honesty, I would have been beside myself if the shite above was offered to her. So the smoke-hating antis see things so differant, going by the top link.

Now even going by the antis ideas and children are influenced by the TV and parents, I always had a jar of "nescafe" in the kitchen, yet none of my 3 children drink have ever liked coffee, so stick that in your pipe and smoke it ANTI

I have never witnessed a more corrupt industry than the anti-smoking industry, along with the so-called 'charities' and pharmaceutical companies that back it.

They make billions out of their lies and propaganda, and don't give a toss about the health of populations.

Oh Dickie, you juggins... *comradely nudge* Evil, baby murdering smokers of course!

Isn't it obvious? Second (or third!) hand smoke affected their brains. They'd never do a naughty thing else...

*skips away, down lollipop lane to dingly-dell*

Bastards.
