The Fork in the Road

By John Watson

Today as a nation we stand at a fork in the road. In just over a half century I have seen much, both good and evil, man on the moon, more wars than I care to remember, the death of corrupt, unworkable regimes and also great leaders. Overall it has been a good life. I have been raised in a country that has a long and proud heritage, respected, feared, loved and hated at one time or another. She is the mother of great nations, the cradle of democracy, and once the arbiter of peace, security and fair play throughout the world.

In recent years we have watched enforced change. We stand today with some unpleasant choices. They involve how we as a nation wish to be viewed, how we as a people wish to governed and, most importantly of all, how we wish to treat each other:

Do you desire to live in a country where your every need is dictated for you, where politicians focus more for how to get an 88p plug on expenses than on caring for its citizens?

Do you care that our elected representatives do not govern but dictate at the whim of pet charities and then turn a blind eye and deaf ear to those they propel towards bankruptcy and disaster?

If not, then sit back and do nothing!

All of this is happening now. We have the equivalent to the Nuremburg race laws on our statutes. Instead of vilifying religions, homosexual’s gypsies and dissenters it vilifies smokers, drinkers and the obese. Ask our WWII veterans where that led and about their sacrifices to preserve your freedom. While you are asking, ask them if it was worth it? Ask them if they would do it again? I believe they would, that is the kind of people that they are, the same heroes who cannot socialise because their clubs and pubs are forced to make them go outside to smoke in all winds and weathers. Is this any way to treat a fellow human being? Whether or not he/she is elderly infirm young or homeless, these people would not treat a dog the way they are being treated. A dog has more rights under the law and it is protected!

If however you wish to live in a country that cares for its citizens then the words of President John Fitzgerald Kennedy come to mind:

“Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country”

What can you do for your country?

If you want to stop the hospitality trade dying,
If you want to end political corruption,
If you want your country back with your privileges, protected by an efficient caring police service.
If you want the ‘Great’ back in Great Britain then the answer is simple:

Every last one of us must tell our MP’s what WE WANT, not what they or the charities want to give us. It is enshrined in the law. They work for us although for the time being they seem to have forgotten..

The definition of democracy is from the Greek, Demos Krasis, POWER OF THE PEOPLE, BY THE PEOPLE, FOR THE PEOPLE!

Any Right Honourable Member who cannot accept these truths should resign and make way for one who will, before the electorate (You, each and every one of you) dismiss them and elect people who will.

Amen. Write, moan, whinge, complain, but do it to the people who matter, not to mates in the pub.

MPs seem to have no clue as to how deeply the resentment of their hysterical healthism runs, but why should they know? Not many people tell them.

Let them know at every opportunity or else they'll just keep passing illiberal laws at the behest of well-funded single issue lobbyists.

Even my children have noticed that they can no longer do what they used to be able to do. They're only young and only interested in playing.

I've only just started to fight what's happening. For the sake of my children really.

The veterans that you mention must have seen some tremendous removals of the freedoms that they so valiantly fought for if a youngster of 12 is even pointing out what's going on.

I'll keep on mentioning it to those that matter - they'll eventually listen
