Today's news that an incarcerated paedophile is lining up the Scottish legal system for a battering is most exciting for this case (long time coming) will have the legal system in knots. In fact, I can envisage clumps of horse hair syrups flying all over the place as the defence tries to prove that passive smoking is NOT dangerous at all and therefore no harm can have been occasioned.
This result will of course ensure that Mahmood Qadri’s dreams of benefiting to the tune of ten grand are well and truly shattered-as is right. Why should this perverted 'kiddy fiddler' even be allowed to claim when he in the clink for serious wrong doings in the first place!
"Because sir, it is the law-and he is entitled to use the law just as anyone else is!"
Apparently there is a prison population of 7,800 in Scotland, with only 1,600 being non smokers! I'll bet Sheila Duffy would love to spend a few nights in Barlinnie sorting the smokers out, though I rather fancy the smokers would sort her out-desperate as many of them must be for a little bit of female company! (paper bag springs to mind)
The question arises however that if there are only 1,600 non smoking prisoners (less than 25%) why haven't they simply set aside a couple of prisons so as to segregate the poor wee darlin's? Have the Scottish Parliament not even thought of that possibility? After all, it makes perfect sense to me.
As the article states, if 'pervy pete' wins this case it will set a precedent for the other 1,599 non smoking inmates, which, apart from all legal fees considered, adds up to a tasty £16m. All because of a wisp of smoke-hahahahahahahaha!
But, my friends, the legal ramifications do not stop with the terrible prospect of 'dishing out loadsa dosh', oh no, let's delve a little further shall we?
Case found unproven-upon what grounds? The only grounds that can base an unproven result on are, quite simply, that passive smoking is harmless!
Pardon your worship, lordship, head of the syrup brigade, could you repeat that please?
For the defence (the crown) to win, they have to prove that SHS is harmless: in other words they have to denounce everything that ASH (DUFFY) and all the other lying, scheming, manipulating, fabricating, deceitful bastards have thrown at governments to ensure smoking bans were enacted in the first place. OH JOY!
According to all the crap we have seen and recorded over the past 5 years, the merest wisp of tobacco smoke should be enough to cause cardiac arrest, emphysema, severe bronchial disorders - and a whole heap of deaths! In fact, how come Scotland still has so many smoking inmates? Shouldn't they have already wiped each other out with smoke? And there is your proof folks! More than 75% of the prison population have/are surviving happily puffing away and doing their time so how can 'pervey pete' even have a case?
One thing for sure, this will have enormous ramifications! For law is law, even though the judiciary try to twist it every which way they can to suit their own ends.
Just remember this, Mdme Kay Labat took her case to the EU courts as her dearly departed had worked in a smokey environment for 27/28 years. They kicked her claim out as "Manifestly Unfounded", ie, SHS could not have possible killed him therefore there was no case to answer. She got nothing for all her troubles.
I think we need to keep our eyes on this one folks as this will be very, very interesting indeed!

We need YOU to help YOURSELVES
I don't know exactly how he has done it but he has! Simon Clark (FOREST) was adamant that the petition we needed to promote was his friend and fellow campaigner Anthony Worrall Thompson's petition. Not that it is worded any more or less brilliantly that the original petition by Daniel Connolly, it's not, but the point is that 'AWT' is a "NAME", a celebrity, a household name AND a well known face of TV fame. Simon Clark states:
New government rules state that e-petitions that gain 100,000 signatures may well force debate in the House of Commons We already know that we now have many friendly MPs and we know that number is growing steadily as prohibition finds its enemies along its thorny path.
We need every single member to sign this petition.
If we hit 100,000 signatures – enough to possibly generate a debate in the House of Commons – I hereby promise that Forest will organise a party at The Greyhound to mark the achievement! For the moment our goal is rather more modest: I want to get AWT's petition into the top 20 and keep it there for next twelve months. In the short term that means a minimum of 5,000 signatures."

But not only am I asking you to sign the petition, I am asking you to then email 7, yes 7 other people asking them to sign the petition-and then ask them to do the same. it is vitally important that we get at least 100,000 signatures.
I have always said that it is people power that will see this despicable ban amended, well here is the chance for people power to shine through.
It is also rather a bonus that AWT has first hand experience of the pub trade and therefore exactly what the smoke ban has done to the trade for he runs The Greyhound in Rotherfield Peppard (near Henley). Although I have never actually asked 'AWT', I'm sure that he expounds his views of the smoking ban just as we do - vehemently!

Fair play to that Simon, highly commendable indeed but I'm afraid that we differ slightly here my friend. I believe that this is the golden opportunity to bring pressure to bear, especially with other things going on at present, in the future etc so I am of the mindset that we promote this petition for all its worth and keep it in the top 5 !
I know that apathy rules this land, especially as far as the majority of licensees are concerned, but the smoking ban has wreaked so much damage-and has the potential to wreak so much more-that it is imperative that all licensees who know that CHOICE is the only answer, let their digits do the talking and sign the petition.
We now know that there are millions of non smokers out there (Simon & myself included) that know the smoking ban is morally, ethically & financially wrong yet we have a small minority allowed such a large say in the matter. ASH were set up by the 'RCP' in an advisory capacity-for God's sake, they are now virtually dictating health policies to a government too weak to even look into the fantastic claims made by these anti smoking zealots!
Have not the latest figures proved what a complete waste of time and money smoking bans are? Do the latest 'quit' figures from Worcestershire, where it has averaged out that we spent £2,009 per quitter, not show you the vast amounts wasted? With 12million smokers in this country, can we afford £2,009 per quitter?
CHOICE is the only answer and European Air Quality Standards can easily be met. Sign this petition, get friends to sign this petition, and let our MPs take this valuable 'voice of the people' to Parliament for debate. We now have the truth of what lays behind smoking bans - they wish they had truth on their side!
Reminder, petition here!

Croutching tiger, cowering sheeples
It is often said by those anti smoking charlatans charities such as ASH (sick*) that the smoking ban/debate is over because in their self deluded tiny world it is. But here in the real world it is definitely not! Nor will it be as long as a large swath of the UK population are treated as less than the amoeba that frequent our shores.
Well I am a little cut above the amoeba and will not be a sheep led to the slaughter by fake charities that lead government officials by their ears! I will not take the onslaught on smokers lying down as it is personal, and I don't like it when people get personal!
Listen now when two ex smokers debate how to rid the world of that 'scourge' that is smoking, not tobacco, but smoking. A huge hat tip must go to Belinda from Freedom2Choose Scotland who has the gen on Scotland's MSM take on driving down smoking prevalence in Scotland.

Chairman's Message
Dick Puddlecote, f2c members, blogosphere anti bansters and local business people all met at the Vaults Bar (Bull Hotel) Stony Stratford to voice their utter contempt for Councillor Bartlett's proposal that the town create a by-law to be smoke free.
Press reports say as many as 200 hardy souls braved the atrocious weather to make their feeling known and local businessman David Odell was one of many speakers to address the assembled, who included many locals who were already fired up about the issue.
Tuesday night's council meeting was moved to the local church, such was the turnout, and out of 150 people present only two raised their hands in support of Cllr Bartlett's proposal - with Cllr Bartlett being one of them!
Much media interest has been created by this protest* and even ASH made comment..."Stony Stratford smoking ban: Town council rejects Bartlett's proposals - for now"... Note those last two words!

"trackend"-just pondlife really!
Something to chew over as the weekend looms large-the mentality of the screwball anti smoker. Now many will think "ffs! here we go again, Phil's 'avin another rant at the anti brigade", but Phil is not. Phil is isolating a very small portion/section of the anti smoking brigade.
I can understand that non smokers want a pub to themselves that involves only clean air but what I can't understand is why these people never seem to fill a pub as smokers did 'in the good old days' of pub happiness and much banter? It makes no sense to me that all the trumpeting of the needs of non smokers have been carried out by government yet government are losing valuable income hand over fist because of it. I mean, how can a law be a good law when it excludes approximately 25% of the population, costs £253m (last year alone) to further, closes 9,000 business and costs the economy over £500m in revenue? I didn't mention that it has saved a life, 'x' scores of lives, 'x' thousands of lives or even millions of lives simply because it can never be proved that the smoking ban has saved a life-just as it can never be proved that a wisp of SHS actually killed anyone!
I mentioned lives for a reason. We have bred, over the past 5 years a new breed of insidious, hateful people, a vile pondlife of amoebic intelligence-if that. These are products of indoctrination from the likes of anti smoking campaigns who have a manual to cover all eventualities whereby they feel an answer is appropriate. These are people that are so consumed with their hatred of all things tobacco, they scour the web for reports, comments, anything they can respond ('pond-life') to in order to keep their own personal insane sanity alive by 'doing their job'. They have only one goal-the total eradication of tobacco products-which of course will never happen as the global industry that is tobacco employs millions of people!
However, back to my mentions of those of pondlife.
We have a member of freedom2choose by the name of Phil Williams. I have met Phil in his hometown of Norwich and found him to be a most genial host and certainly not some 'fag-hag' as some are wont to describe smokers. Sure, Phil has his opinions, as we all do, for he like many of us is disgusted that a government can see fit to take away people's freedoms, their human rights, civil liberties and property rights.
He is a quiet, dignified man who rightly rails against such dictatorship and a few years ago, through 'his voice' (the camera lens), produced a marvelous short video entitled "PassiveRauchen". The video showed the smoking ban to be exactly what it is-a complete load of bollocks as our two hero's decided to 'knock out' an enemy pill box by s***n gas, sorry SHS. Of course, Phil has made many more video's highlighting the absurdity of the ban but that one always sticks in my mind-bloody brilliant!
Imagine my surprise this morning when I received a copy of this through my email account:-
A fine example of why anti smokers have no place in civilised society.
I [Phil Williams] just received this charming comment on YouTube...
trackend has made a comment on Smokers die younger! Than who?:
Phil, I could not have titled it better my friend! This is a typical 'smoker hater' campaigner, thoroughly educated, to pondlife standards, plucking one of their many hate filled pre-written responses from the handbook of "I hate smokers".Please increase your intake of snouts as much as possible 80-90 a day should do the trick so you have fatal a heart attack rather than long lasting emphysema or cancer with all those bottles of oxygen and nursing care and using up inhalers every five paces. that way the rest of us won't have to foot such a big treatment bill & before you say it the amount raised in tax from fags does not even come close to covering the cost of treating smoking related complaints so please die quickly , thanks
Let us look at the wonderful use of language in this amoebic response from "trackend"-deadend more like!
It is a child like plea for a person to smoke themselves to death. One certainly doesn't need to smoke 80-90 fags per day but if one does, that is one's choice to do so. And, note, there is no guarantee that one person smoking 80-90 per days will be any worse off than a 20 per day smoker!
This 'amoebic pondlife' also wants our Phil to have a massive heart attack and simply die-which, apart from dying in our sleep, I would imagine is the demise most preferable to all of us: smokers & non smokers alike. "trackend" also wants our Phil to avoid costing the NHS any money whatsoever in treating any smoking related illness-irrespective of the fact that he defended our country manually and paid taxes and tax again to do so! I suppose that it has escaped the 'amoebic brained one' that non smokers cost the country more in care costs as they live longer and therefore scrounge more from the state benefit system!
And just to ratify some figures for 'old pondlife' I will reiterate that TT income is circa £11bn, whereas smoking related NHS costs amount to £2.7bn, so I think that 'pondlife' will find that, Phil Willams assistance there is as nice overbalance of circa £8.3bn to the NHS to treat whatever illnesses may befall "trackendpondlife"! And again, a pathetic request to 'die quickly'-well, no one in their right mind requests a long, lingering death in the first place!
Of course what we don't know is whether 'pondlife' is a secret tippler, thus costing the NHS more-as alcohol realated treatments do, or indeed, a bona fide` member of the fatty brigade (no offence intended to any other) for in munching their way through life our larger members of the spicies cost the NHS even more than our tipplers. In fact 'pondlife' our smokers are the cheapest of the 3 apparent deadly sins!
I could add a lot more burt i will save you from boredom, but the point being made is the kind of people this law and way of thinking has brought forth from the bowels of obscurity. "live and let live" no longer seems to be the status quo as people jump on this supposed healthism bandwagon. Blair doesn't care, he's junketing around the world earning £millions, Brown is still trying to defend his indefensible Chancellorship/Leadership and Cameron is fighting for his political life amid riots of open scorn & discontent as our 'broken society' proves beyond doubt that it is smashed beyond all recognition.
We have bred pondlife such as "trackend" by allowing our society to be over-run by so called 'do-gooders'. on the back of the 'do-gooders' comes the likes of Arnott, Duffy, Dockrell, leaches feeding off the taxpayers to destroy taxpayers pleasures. it is these people that sit and plot the destruction of smokers and ultimately our financial wellbeing. They were only ever set up to advise and monitor but they have wormed their way in so far that they are now governing policies and they are producing legions of pondlife such as dead end "trackend"!
The sooner government see and actually realise that ASH, CRUK et al are the instigators of pondlife inc; the sooner their funding be cut and we get back to normal where people are free to enjoy their pleasures and free to die as they wish too! Due to the immense traffic pollution we endure, people such as pondlife may also be granted a lengthy expiration through 'emphysema or cancer with all those bottles of oxygen and nursing care and using up inhalers every five paces'. Who knows?
